A Show!! My Hearts and Stars!!

Dune Hunter
Last weekend we had our first show in a while. Hannah from Dune Hunter was instrumental in getting the ball rolling, and she made the poster. We invited Magic User from Montpelier and I Love You! from Brattleboro as well. Never have I seen so much Vermont synth-based music in one place, and my word was it ever glorious!

Magic User

This was our first time playing with Magic user, but if we have anything to say about it, we will get them back to White River Junction soon. They're recording as we speak, so hopefully they will release it into the wild. I Love You! is the only one of these bands with a Bandcamp--which you should check out--but Dune Hunter you can see live at What Doth Life Fest in Windsor, VT on Sept. 28th.

P.S. Thank you to my Mom for taking these pictures. If anyone has any more, we'd love it if you send 'em our way<3

Oops, We Forgot to Blog

I can't promise this won't happen again... But we forgot to blog for several years. Things have just been so political lately, it's been hard to keep track of my brain. Redgei's really still got it together, but I'm the one who was supposed to be blogging.

We wanted to say hello, and we hope you're doing well. We are releasing our next album, a sequel to our split with Pliable Tones, and thought you might like to know. It's kind of interesting--on our side of the album, many of our tracks are devoted to showcasing specific instruments that we use. Waiting for the Man features a Honer Combo Pianet, Henry's Cat uses our Music Major, The Castle Appears Again is on a Roland D-5 that Chico gave us, and Maybe it's the Wind was programmed on our Mac Plus. Here is a picture of the art for the new album:

Also, we're going to play a show in August, and it's going to me magnificent. Our friend Hannah, who's playing the show with us, has designed a beautiful poster for it too:

Our Setup at our Latest Show

We just wanted to show you the setup from our latest show. We made a mic stand out of tree trimmings! That's Vermont for you! We got rained on, but man was it a fun show! There was "BBQ," though I have no idea what that stands for, and stand up comedy. T'was a priceless evening if ever there was one. Thanks to Jared and Kerry for putting it on!

Love,
Matt and Redgei

Another New Fred

Our new E.P., Another New Fred is out on floppy disk in the U.K., and it's available online here! Or friend Graham was tremendously gracious to us and is sending us a few copies to be distributed in the United States. So, if you want one and don't want to pay exorbitant shipping, please comment soon or email me.

In other news, there is a Christmas compilation coming out from Wrieuw, and it will feature another track by Redgei and myself. We'll keep you updated, but to tide you over, here is the link to last year's comp: A Very Wrieuw Christmas

After many moons, the ambassador has commissioned a new video. It is in honor of our upcoming mini E.P. floppy disk with Wrieuw Recordings. The release is December 8th, and it will also be available on their bandcamp. We hope you enjoy our newest snippet.

The Caring Babies are on a podcast today!

Our good pal Graham Boosey makes a great podcast called The Graham and Stuart show. It's quite an eclectic podcast, and most entertaining to listen to. This week, Stuart couldn't make it, and Graham is bringing DJ David Watkins on to fill in. He asked us if we could play a live set, we ecstatically obliged. We recorded a live set and interview this weekend, then we sent it off to England!

It airs today (June 16th) at 3:00pm Eastern Standard Time (8:00pm British Summer Time) on Ship Full Of Bombs: Thames Delta Independent Music Radio. You can go to their website around that time, and hit the listen live button.  Also, for all you future people, when you read this after June 16th, you can click the Podcasts button and that will bring you to their archive. It will be listed under 16/06/2014.

Live from my basement, to Leigh On Sea, England, and back again!
I took this with my phone, Redgei can do computers with one hand behind her back.

Just a nice picture of Redgei

Rebecca took this very nice picture of Redgei at our latest show. We were playing a companion set with The Grand Mandibles. Also at the show was Acrid Fluff from Greece (at least partially) and the haunting and illustrious Rabbit Rabbit. Redgei was looking like a million bucks!
